簡単に自己紹介させていただきます。
名前は児玉 操、 年令は９１才、日本の京都
に在るクリスチャンスクール、同志社中学校
の元英語教師で、現在は停年生活を送って
います。
隼人氏の詩を読み、感動した私は、ただちに
その翻訳に着手しました。その生活は、最初
の間は苦悩にみちたものだったでしょう。
良心の呵責にもせめられたにちがいありませ
ん。地上に投げ倒された木が二度と立ち上が
れないように、彼にとって、もう一度立ち上
がる、ということは不可能なことでした。
ところが奇蹟がおこったのです。彼はもう
一度立ち上がったのです。如何にして？

詩によって。全力をつくし、エネルギーの
すべてをかけて、彼は自分のすべてを「詩」
一点に集中したのです。
何千の種が空中に飛び散るよう、ねがわくば、
かれの詩が遠い遠い国々の果てまで飛び散り、
芽を出し、花を咲かせ、人の心をなぐさめる
ことが出来るよう、そして生きる力をあたえ
ることが出来るよう、心から祈るものであり
ます。

Let me introduce myself.  I am Mrs. Misao
Kodama (91 years old), a retired
English teacher of a Christian School,
Doshisha, in Kyoto, Japan.

As soon as I read Hayato’s poems I was
deeply impressed by them and began to 
translate his poems written in the first few
years.  His life must have been full of
agonies‐the pangs of conscience.  Like a
tree thrown down upon the ground, it
seemed impossible for him to rise up again.
However a miracle occurred.  He stood
up again, but how ?

He did so by concentrating his power,
energy and everything upon poetry.
Like thousands of seeds fly into the air,
pray, his poem may fly into the far and far
countries, and bloom flowers of happiness
in people’s heart.
